Share e-books securely

Sometimes you want to share an e-book with a select group before it even hits the virtual shelves. Think of a rough draft of your manuscript for a beta reader, a translation under a strict embargo, or an ARC (Advance Review Copy) for a reviewer. Naturally, you want to prevent such a file from leaking prematurely.

How does it work in BoMark?

You don’t need to create a product in your webshop for this. Simply upload the e-book to BoMark and manually create a transaction using the name and email address of the lucky recipient.

You then have two options:

• Send directly: Let BoMark automatically send an email containing the download link.

• Stay in control: Copy the unique download link from the transaction and paste it into your own personal email.

ePub or PDF: Which is the safest choice?

You can choose between two formats, depending on how sensitive the information is:

• ePub: This provides the best reading experience on an e-reader or tablet. BoMark adds a digital watermark (Social DRM) to the file, but technically speaking, an ePub remains an "open" format.

• Password-protected PDF: For truly confidential documents, a PDF is the best choice. By combining a watermarked PDF with a strong password in BoMark, you put the file firmly under lock and key. Even if the link is intercepted, no one can access the text without your unique code.
